They already said that they won't do it ever. You're just going to have to use BeamMP or other third-party multiplayer mods. Once the game is at or near it's final version, then the devs might consider implementing Multiplayer. They're working more on fleshing the game out, making it a more interesting game to play with better physics, more cars and just more fun stuff to do.
They're aware of the possiblity, and they know it's been requested a bunch, but there's so many other features that they already have planned which take precedent. I've heard that Multiplayer isn't even on the Dev's radar at this point. They have more 'important' things to add to the game before getting around to a feature people have been wanting since 2013. You'd think they'd contact the beam MP peole and see about incorporating it into the official game to get 1 highly requested feature added, but nope. I also asked about this, and got mixed responses.
